Ages 8-15 Wednesday Night Junior Race Series
Kids can gain valuable sailing experience and have fun. All youngsters age 8-15 that have previously participated in a Community Sailing class and earned a Gold rating are invited to participate in Community Sailing’s Wednesday Night Junior Racing program in a pram. A series trophy will be awarded to the top three participants on July 23rd. Tuition (6 evening session): $475 PREREQUISITE: Minimum Gold rating required. This race series begins at 4:30 pm on - 6/11, 6/18, 6/25, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23 Junior Sailors must meet Community Sailing’s race coach, at the marina, at 4:30 pm. The junior race series begins at 4:30 pm and will end at approximately 8:30 pm.
Race series schedule: 4:30 pm Skippers meeting ٭ Discuss sportsmanship and awards ٭ Discuss course ٭ Discuss weather ٭ Discuss advanced sailing technique 5:00 pm Rig sailboats 5:30 pm Be at starting line prepared to race 6:00 pm Racing begins 8:00 pm Racing concludes ٭ Un-rig and store sailboats and equipment After unrigging is completed, a protest meeting and race debriefing will take place.
