Rachel Daugherty-Executive Director

Rachel Daugherty grew up sailing in Arkansas and comes to CSC from New Orleans, where she was sailing director at Southern Yacht Club. Not completely foreign to cold weather, Rachel graduated from Fordham University in New York City where she was sailing team captain and a MAISA undergraduate representative. She’s been a racing coach at JWorld Sailing School in Key West and Newport and has spent seasons coaching in Bermuda and the BVI. Rachel is a US Sailing Level I Instructor Trainer and currently sits on the board of the US Sailing Community Sailing Council.  She’s very excited to bring even more sailing opportunities to Colorado, and can’t wait to learn to ski.

Ryan Gates- Head Instructor

We are ecstatic to welcome Ryan back for his second summer with Community Sailing. When not on the waters, he is a 7th grade Social Studies teacher. Ryan has been sailing most of his life and feels that the lesson learned sailing are ones that junior sailors will carry with them in to adulthood. Ryan will be working with our advanced and intermediate sailors.

Kendall Mallon- Instructor

Cherry Creek is pumped to have Kendall join its ranks. Kendall was a junior sailor at Standley Lake and earned CSC’s third ever Skipper rating. He spent last summer teaching at our BowMar program. We are excited to have Kendall working with our beginning sailors at Cherry Creek.

Joanna Foote- Instructor

We are looking forward to welcoming Joanna home from her first year in college. Joanna Foote is a returning instructor after her Freshman year. Joanna has been instructing with us since 2006 and is a former junior sailor at Community Sailing. Joanna specializes in working with beginner sailors.

Amy Zsohar- Administrative Assistant

Amy is excited to be starting her third sailing season with Community Sailing. Amy has been an employee of Community Sailing for three years. Many of you have seen her around. She will be manning the office this summer in the mornings from 8AM-1PM M-F.
