Garage Parking at the Denver FilmCenter//colfax will fill up quickly on Thursday evening and there is a spill-over parking lot across the street near the East High School that we have access to. There is also on-street parking nearby as well.

Jesse competed against hundreds of sailors to earn his spot on the bow of the TP 52 alongside 10 other inexperienced sailors during the 2,225 mile Transpac Ocean Race.

Experience a riveting and inspiring true-life adventure aboard the high-tech sloop MORNING LIGHT. Fifteen rookie sailors have one goal in mind — to be part of her crew, racing in the most revered sailing competition on Earth, the Transpac Yacht Race. From start to finish, it’s a roller-coaster ride of emotions and physical challenges, beginning with six months of intense training. Only eleven will survive to race in the grueling 2,225-mile Transpac. Matching wits and skills against experienced pros and the unforgiving, unpredictable Pacific Ocean, these young men and women develop a powerful bond and prove how dedication, teamwork and an unyielding spirit can overcome the greatest of odds.

Kids (Ages 17 and under): $5.00-includes a Popcorn & a Soda

Adults: $10.00 per person            

The Entire Family: $25.00-includes 2 Popcorn’s & 2 Sodas

Jesse Fielding
Jesse Fielding, MORNING LIGHT CREW MEMBER, will be joining us for a special presentation before the start of the film on February 24, 2011at the Denver FilmCenter//colfax. Jesse competed against hundreds of sailors to earn his spot on the bow of the TP 52 along side 10 other inexperienced sailors during the 2,225 mile Transpac Ocean Race. Invite your family and friends to meet Jesse and enjoy a incredible sailing documentary. Jesse will start his presentation at 6:45 PM followed by a Q & A Session in the lobby upon conclusion of the screening. DON’T BE LATE! See below for ticket sales information.
Jesse grew up racing small boats in Rhode Island and moved through the ranks of US Junior Sailing competition. After high school Jesse attended the University of Rhode Island for his freshman year before being selected for the Morning Light Project. After returning home, Jesse was the captain of the University of Rhode Island Sailing and skipper of the URI World Cup Racing Team. He recently graduated from URI with a dual major in Economics and Political Science and is now pursuing a career in the marine industry. He sails as much as possible on boats of all sizes, in shore and offshore.
