Only eleven boats will survive to race in the grueling 2,225-mile Transpac. Matching wits and skills against experienced pros and the unforgiving, unpredictable Pacific Ocean, these young men and women develop a powerful bond and prove how dedication, teamwork and an unyielding spirit can overcome the greatest of odds.
This screening event is for all family and friends that would enjoy a great sailing film. More details to come shortly…

Colorado Gives Day Logo

Join Community Sailing of Colorado on December 8, 2010 for COLORADO GIVES DAY and help raise $1 Million in one day for Colorado charities!  By supporting Colorado Gives Day you are helping Community Sailing fulfill its mission to “provide a place, the means, and the knowledge for youth to learn and refine the skill and art of sailing in a safe, controlled and fun environment.”

Fall RaceteamWhat is Colorado Gives Day?

Colorado Gives Day is a new initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, CO Gives Day will take place during a 24-hour period starting at 12 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Donations will be accepted through the website GivingFirst.org or on the Community Sailing Website with a goal of raising $1 million in one day for Colorado charities.

When will it take place?

During a 24-hour period starting at 12 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010.

Why was it created?

Colorado ranks among the lowest states in charitable contributions while having some of the highest average incomes. This initiative was created to increase support for Colorado charities through online giving.

100% of your donation goes to Community Sailing of Colorado!

Who created it?

Community First Foundation partnered with FirstBank to bring this important initiative to Colorado. The Foundation is a Denver-based community foundation that strives to improve quality of life in the seven-county Denver area. We fund community initiatives, support nonprofit organizations, and assist individuals with charitable giving. With the creation of GivingFirst.org in 2007, the Foundation has focused on supporting the nonprofit sector through online giving. FirstBank has more than $10 billion in assets and more than 130 locations in Colorado, Arizona, and California. It has grown through consumer and commercial lending, innovative banking products and services and a high regard for community investment.

How do I make a donation?

Simply click below on the Colorado Gives Day Donate Now Icon or go to www.GivingFirst.org and enter an organization’s name or a topic in the Charity Name field and press Search. Then click on the orange Donate Now button next to the charity’s name and enter the donation information as directed.
