Don’t be intimidated, the CSC Racing Program is a great way for any of our Advanced or Intro to Advanced campers to quickly pick up racing basics while learning to sail with peers. Sailors are encouraged but not mandated to participate in competitive regattas (sailing races) both in and out of state. Competitive sailing here in Colorado is a great pathway to lead young athletes toward college sailing and beyond.
Advanced sailors develop the talents to become skilled sailboat racers. Independence and critical thinking are at the heart of the race team. Sailors work together on and off the water to establish a solid foundation of knowledge; including: the racing rules of sailing, advanced rigging and sail tuning, advanced sailing techniques, sportsmanship, and strategy. Racing is fun! Sailors learn to work through challenges and rejoice in the triumphs and travails of competitive sport.
