Intermediate Level

Description
Join us for once-weekly, 3-hour sessions over 4 weeks, designed for adults who have completed our Adult Dinghy Sailing 1 Class and are ready to advance their skills. In this course, you’ll sail in pairs on a more responsive C420 sailboat, learning to manage a second sail while refining your teamwork and boat-handling techniques.
Participants will develop essential skills such as coordinated steering, proper sail trim between the mainsail and jib, tacking, jibing, and capsize recovery. Expect to get wet as you navigate these dynamic small boats! Sign up solo or with friends, and take your sailing to the next level in a fun and supportive environment.
Pre-Requisite: Adult Dinghy Sailing 1 Class or previous experience sailing dinghies
Moving Up: Join a local sailing club to get involved in the community or join us at Cherry Creek for our Adult Learn to Race Class.
Location: Boulder Reservoir
Day: Wednesdays – 4 week session
Time: 5pm – 8pm (June, July, & August) | 4:30pm – 7:30pm (September)
What do we need to bring?
- Closed-toed shoes are required
- Bring your own water for drinking
- Remove all jewelry (especially rings)
- Gloves are recommended: bike gloves and gardening gloves work great
- Long hair should be secured in a low ponytail or braid
- If you already have your own PFD, you’re welcome to wear it. Otherwise, we’ll provide you with one.
- Towel
- Sunscreen
- Wear a bathing suit or clothes you don’t mind getting wet in. Colorado weather can change quickly. Cloud cover, rain, and a windy day can suddenly feel cold. Please pack a sweatshirt, or rain pants/rain jacket for blocking wind, and a dry change of clothes if you wish.
What if there is Inclement Weather?
Weather in CO can be tricky and ever-changing. We will do our best to notify you at least 2 hours before class begins if we need to cancel.
